Four steps to improve company performance
Repeat these steps.

Simple
in principle, this evolutionary process is effective but presents practical
difficulties. One major difficulty is
resistance to change, another is data errors (the
garbage-in/garbage-out or GIGO syndrome). When difficulties are
overcome, the rewards are great. As more businesses use these steps to
improve those that don't are at risk.
Although
these four steps provide a framework to guide improvement, a universe of
devilish details lurks in each. For more elaborate discussion of the
principles involved, please refer to “Fundamentals of Management” by Robbins
and De Cenzo, or your favorite management authority. For some
common-sense advice on how to fold information technology into your
management plans, please see the article on reliability and accountability.
